i got Seoul

February 21, 2007

greetings from ASIA. yeah, as you may have guessed from my oh-so-witty title, I’m currently in South Korea. I was brushing my teeth in the airplane bathroom, and the pilot comes on saying we have good news, and we have bad news. You never want to hear that, especially after 14 or so hours in the air. Apparently there was a massive fog covering most of Asia, and the Beijing airport was completely shut down. I don’t even remember what the good news was, but oh well…here I am in Seoul. I am currently in a Kinko’s, where the internets are strangely free. United put us up in the Intercontinental, which is a pretty sweet hotel. I have a king sized bed and a flat screen, so I guess life isn’t that bad. I even met a girl from Harbin, so I already have friends. yay! Her name is Snow, and she’s already offered to help me with my Chinese – which is pretty bad. She corrects my pronunciation for almost every word. ha. Anyway, I’m safe and sound, and quite jet lagged. Hopefully I’ll be in Beijing later tonight, depending on the weather, but right now I’m off to explore downtown Seoul…I thought I saw a Dunkin Donuts somewhere…

final countdown…

February 20, 2007

Well, somehow I made it through 2 months of doing absolutely nothing at all, traveling up and down the Eastern seaboard, and sleeping till 2. I’m basically all packed, and tomorrow at 10 AM I’m off to ASIA, with a small stop over in Chicago. This is all pretty ridiculous, therefore I’ve started this “blog” to document it all. I know I’d never actually keep a travel journal; at least I have a shot at keeping up with this. I’m writing mainly so all of you can keep up with me and my awkward adventures while you’re bored at work (or at home if you’re Berry ;) . I’ll really miss all of you, as well as the creature comforts of the good old US of A, but I guess this is something I needed to do. Or because I didn’t have anything else to do. haha. See you all in 6 months, and till then, peace out USA.
